Any DUers that visit Freeperville, I have a question:
Just how do they feel about Colbert's little bout of truthiness?

Are they:

Quipping the 'it wasn't funny' line? (No asshat it wasn't...it was perfection.)

Scathing about treason?

Just doing what backwash does...simmering in the heat?

1. Yes, yes and yes.
Apparently, they also feel it was "disgraceful"...

4. There was a redneck comedian DVD on the shelf at Blockbuster
yesterday and on the cover it proudly announced being in stereo in the 4:3 format.

3. Remeber last week's scandal?
Mayhaps they'd feel it would have been more appropriate if Colbert would have resigned first.

LOL!!!

6. highlights from a link posted in one of the Colbert threads
There was much of the "* was a comedy genius, Colbert was boring and unfunny" stuff. I won't bother with that.. as well as, surprisingly to me, a fair smattering of opinion that Colbert was funny.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1624068/posts

Some just didn't "get it":

And Colbert did tease the press about not being hard on the President and inferred that their analysis was factual and just about right.

Joining ABC were former Ambassador Joseph Wilson and his wife, Valerie Plame....

OK....they're neither famous nor powerful. An obvious ploy by one of the press members. Marginalize this person/paper/network. Give them the Helen Thomas treatment.

Oh no, not famous at all! rofl.

As usual at FR, just when you think you have the measure of the extremity, you get stuff like:

He ought to be ordering half the SOB's in the room arrested and jailed for destroying our nations will to fight.

Instead he's partying with them.

Not too bright.

W should refuse to attend such an event, breaking this "tradition" once and for all.

This President has demonstrated that he is absoulutely clueless when it comes to dealing with his domestic enemies on the left, de facto enemy allies in that they are more effective at destroying our will to fight than some smelly one eyed subhuman towelhead camel jockey could ever hope to be.

Hard to believe that it has been less than 5 years since 9/11 and more than half of the population want us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and believe that there were no WMD.

The propaganda of the left has been unbelievably effective, they are running around with straight faces saying Iraq has nothing to do with the WOT, and people are buying into it.

The American left should be assailed by this President, its political leaders shamed and silenced and its propagandists in the press jailed .

Iran knows that the left is its biggest ally and is acting accordingly.

(Bush is) supposed to make it clear to the assembled propaganda wing of the DNC masquerading as journalists in the room that in their relentless attempt to undermine him and put the Democrats back in control of the Government they are jeopardizing national security, encouraging the enemy and undermining our ability to come together as a nation and win the war.

And that if they keep it up they will face consequences they will not be too happy about.

Thats what he is supposed to be doing

Scary, eh?

7. Don't hate when people smoke too much pot and get all paranoid?
:scared: indeed.

Amazing that they don't see how they are systematically being lied to even now.

8. What's scarier is that the spelling seems to be pretty good
considering the source, I expected a few true English manglings and there seem to be nary a one...
