Steve Briggs was the hit of the evening - with Bush as his straight man. What a team they made. Colbert, on the other hand, was just plain childish and certainly didn’t get the laughs from the audience, except, of course, from Joe Wilson and his “wife.” Bush hears what the people are saying and he knows how the polls read, but he continues to do what he believes is the right thing. He is an honorable man and I believe historians will treat him just as they have treated Lincoln. Colbert made me understand why it isn’t worth the time to watch him.
