JOE LIEBERMAN faces tough primary racedue to his support for Bush on Iraq.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- With his ruddy tan and dark gray suit, Ned Lamont is an antiwar liberal with a twist. Rather than targeting a Republican, the millionaire Greenwich businessman is challenging a fellow Democrat, Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, one of President Bush's strongest supporters on the war in Iraq.

"I'm not surprised that there's a primary challenge," Lieberman conceded. According to a February poll by Quinnipiac University, 61 percent of state voters said invading Iraq was the wrong thing to do. But the former Democratic vice presidential nominee said he will not back down from his position.

Lieberman, the Democratic senator who loathes Democrats.

1. I keep getting "Dear friend" e-mails from him
I guess I got on his database from one or two angry letters I e-mailed him - they don't seem to be too selective with solicitations. Smells like desperation to me!

2. Let's reject the Repuke framing on this...
There are so many things to hate LIEberman for besides just his support for the Iraq war.

This is not a one-issue race.

Oh, wait... it is... the one issue is "Joe's Gotta go!"

3. It's a LOT more than his "support on Iraq"...
More like his continued support for B*sh on almost every issue.

His self-chosen role as the Repub party's favorite "Trained Pet Democrat".
