i heard a t.v. lady say that last night, that the number of g.i.'s killed in 04 and 05 were exactly the same, and then asked the retired army general du jour exactly how does this translate into success.

he gave the mandatory, standardized, monotone answers which left the question unanswered.

just wanted to make everyone aware of this grim statistic, and to remember that these particular statistics were your sons and daughters.

1. Neo-cons and Bush look at stuff in an odd way.
Deception and fear as a ruling way does not fit in with my thoughts of how a govt. should be run so I lost it when Bush and these crooks got in office. They all seem to think they were born to rule and I thought our founders just hated that. So when they think they are winning because no more men were killed is some how good reasoning to this group. It is just you and I do not understand that style of reasoning. Like bombing a city to the stone age so they will fear you and that is winning. Like we are living in a badly done story. Anything for the results they want seems to work for a lot of odd people.

7. for example-it has taken 4 months for my son to have surgery...
for torn tendons in his left knee(injured August 28th).His surgery has been bumped six times because the orthopedic surgeons are overwhelmed with the traumatic amputations caused by the various explosive devices.

5. Considering that they tried to pull them back out of harm's way....
We should ask, how bad would it have been if they had continued the same procedures as in 2004?

6. Of course we're winning in Iraq!
Want proof? Here is a quote from an amazing letter in this morning's Columbus Dispatch from something called "J. Michael Demko":

----------

Liberals should understand two things: President George W. Bush will never run for office again, and the American people will never elect to national office anyone who actively works for the defeat of the United States abroad or at home. A patriot would print the truth around us. Our economy is roaring, unemployment is lower than it has been in 30 years. The war in Iraq goes well, a constitution has been formed, representatives have been selected in free elections and that constitution has been ratified by 70 percent of the voting public. Clean water flows, electricity is on, schools are open and commerce is booming.

----------

Wow. So many false statements in one paragraph! I smell a Fox. What about you?

BTW, in the second paragraph of his screed, the writer "defends" Bush's illegal spying by describing imaginary actions taken by - wait for it - drum roll - Bill Clinton!
