Hannity: Don't blame the oil companies...
It's government taxation which is the reason for high gas prices.

And a direct quote: 'The government gives us nothing back for the gasoline taxes they collect.'

I guess the interstate highway system just happened to appear one day, fully complete and never requiring maintenance. Sheeesh.

Just right-wing opinions, neocon commentary, republican slanted discussions, GOP pontifications & lots of conservative heresy, made-up bullshit and fascist propaganda...

But never any news!

7. riiiiiiiight - gov't taxation...
Federal taxes on gasoline making up 18 cents per gallon is the major problem? what a joke - the PROBLEM is oil trading at $74/barrel - for a LOT of reasons - one being we probably have a situation now where demand is outpacing available supply...

State taxes also make up a small percentage of the price - but the real cost is OIL, shipping oil, refining oil, shipping gasoline etc. - and that is cost out on the market - where worldwide buyers compete for available barrels - so 18 cents of fed tax isn't going to make any big difference with crude prices soaring....

11. That bigass signing ceremony for the highway spending bill
with all the pols there for the projects they delivered...never happened. Amazing. They both take credit for the spending and then deny that taxes pay for anything.

Since Bush has been in office, we have gotten nothing back...in fact, the revenue's been pipelined to FORS (Friends of the Republican Syndicate).

I was half expecting at least a little blame for the "Environmental Extremists" when I opened this thread up.

Didn't Hannity get the memo?

radio for stupid people. I mean Sean, Shrubous Boobious Maximous Primus has been in office 5 years, and couldn't he lowered the federal gas tax? And how many governors who are republican have done the same thing? So when you blame the government aren't you blaming the "Conservative" Republicans that run it?

19. Expect to hear this from all the Bush whores
over the next few weeks. Apparently (on another thread) Boortz was shilling the same (verbatim) swill yesterday.
So. The memos have gone out.
The talking points have been distributed to the whores.
Let's see how they play with average Americans.
IF they don't remember seeing the obscene bonuses paid to oil execs. Or Bush strolling hand in hand with the Saudi sheik.
Or remember Cheney plotting with Enron and other oil industry execs on America's energy policy. (and then vehemently refusing to turn over the minutes to the GAO).
Why is that, Mr. Cheney?
Taxes?
Right.

20. My favorite quote from today's show:
"The only reason they won't let us drill in ANWR is so that some Caribou can have sex"

It's amazing how stupid these people can be and still function as normal human beings.
