Bush's Energy Speech opened with a Wide Angle Pan of a Corn Field!
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 10:36 AM by KoKo01
When the cables began his speech he spoke for about four minutes as if he were standing on the set of Oklahoma...except the corn wasn't as high "as an elephant's eye" it was just planted. After a few minutes the camera panned back to tight shot of the podium with him lecturing in his most down home Texas Twang with "enhanced audio" for the applause.

If I hadn't been waiting for the speech and saw him introduced on a podium I would have thought he was really out there in the fields speaking to Amurka! Reminded me of his last big scene stealer in New Orleans with the "blue light," or the "Codpiece Landing on the Aircraft carrier."

His producers constantly find "backdrops" for him...but this one was so laughable that I can imagine folks like Jon Stewart will have a real "field day" (pun intended) with this scripted and over-produced performance! :D

How much are "We the People" paying for these production stunts? If it was Clinton or Carter or Johnson or Kennedy.....well...

1. Funny.

Unfortunately it's you and me that picks up the tab for Bush's idiotic backdrops and shennanigans.

8. Did you catch the opening shot though where it was wide angle...too funny
little Bush was in at the podium in the Corn field...before they panned back to the tighter shot.

I have to say I don't laugh at Bush's speechs...usually want to throw things...but this one was really so OTT it showed him and his handlers to be the fools they are...always playing from the same old worn out ad agency "marketing" script thinking they can make him popular like when he had his "bull horn moment" at the World Trade Center.

He's desperate...

6. You laugh - but just wait
until ADM and Cargill are on par with the oil companies (i.e. Lee "Jabba the Hutt" Raymond's EXXON) for raping and pillaging and polluting the earth in the name of ethanol for for your Hummer...

11. He did his classic "smirk" as he spoke of how ethanol will help Amurka's
great agriculuture..The farmers who will make us "energy independent."

He smirked because he knows those "farmers" long ago had to give up their family farms as the "agri-businesses" took over.

He figures "Amurkans" still think furniture is made in North Carolina and chickens and cows roam free on the "family farms" and that this will be a sign that "Amurkan" jobs under Bush protect the family business. Ethanol production protects "Family Farms."

 if it wasn't so
