Why hasn't the Drumheller report caused more uproar?

I've been thinking about this. It doesn't seem to me that the 60 Minutes episode caused as much uproar as one would think. After all, while the idea of selective intelligence gathering and deception by shrub's administration is not exactly new news, this is the first time a CIA official of such high ranking has come forth. I realize shrub's approval rating dipped again, but I think that's more due to high gas prices than the Drumheller revelation. Is the lack of outrage more due to the fact that the general public finally "gets it" regarding the misuse of Iraq intelligence (as public opinion polls have shown) and that Drumheller's story just doesn't surprise anyone?

Thoughts?

2. I think it's more a case of...
"Tell us something we didn't already know."

I don't think there are many people left on the fence about whether or not he lied and whether Congress helped him cover it up.

10. Underscore, exclamation point !
Bush is tanking, the truth is out, DSM is Q.E.D. quod erat demonstratum in latin ! "It is demonstrated" or "It is proven". You don't really need to keep proving the already proven, but events keep marching on.

6. I agree. Moreover, people have learned that Congress really doesn't care
about it and expect absolutely nothing to happen. So, why get excited about what everyone has assumed to be true for 3 years?

4. It's a concentrated effort to give it no play
If CNN, Fox, ABC & NBC give the story no air time, they are hoping it will die a quiet & quick death. Plus, 60 Minutes has been hurt by the AWOL story from Sept. of 2004, so some may not give them credibility if the story is not picked up by others.

8. Take a look at that question
Now, substitute "Drumheller report" with every other scandal in this administration, to Downing Street memos, to Dick Cheney's Super Secret Energy Council, to Diebold, the Supreme Court, Kenny Boy, etc.

A small sliver of the country is sticking fingers in ears, and others are just waiting for a sound byte-sized statement to be spoon fed ad nauseum.

9. Didn't you Hear? Cynthia McKinney called someone a "fool"
and I think there might also be a missing Beautiful Blonde somewhere.

If only Bush had lied about Iraq and invaded because he said Saddam was responsible for some young blonde's disappearance, the MSM would be all over this story.

11. because it is just as incriminating to the media as it is to Shrub
do you think they want to discuss their own incompetence and malfeasance? They held the report til after the 2004 election on purpose! That doesn't make them look good and they know it. This shame belongs to them!

That's why I doubt you'll see an uproar in the media about it. But there may be other forces building behind this revelation. We'll watch Congress now.

we are ASHAMED this is the first peep we are hearing from 60 Minutes et al

we are AFRAID of what is getting ready to happen in Iran.

we feel POWERLESS in the shadow of collective evil

i could go on and on...

15. Would also be good for those pressuring Pat Roberts on Phase II
of WMD report to make the Drumheller info VERY visible and current so that Roberts has to include it. Reid and others should be talking about it anyway, and Phase II provides another opportunity to talk about two misdeeds at once: 1) WMD deception and 2) congressional stonewalling and irresponsibility. I hope they use the opportunity.

16. Your guess is as good as mine. Probably it isn't any one
particular reason, but a number of things. My wife and I ponder this question frequently, and we still cannot come up with a definitive answer.
