3. He is asking these questions to let us all know how much he knows
about military law, he's basically tooting his own horn and trying to make the highlight reel on the news tonight, but thats just mho.

8. Being as Graham was Alito's 'coach' leading up to these ...
... hearings, you'd think he could keep focused.

Imagine what his Q and A would be like if he DIDN'T already know what questions would be asked, and what the answers would be?

10. Oh, yes, yet another little 'ethics' scandal ...
... as if the GOP didn't have enough on the go.

Apparently, Graham volunteered to 'coach' Alito during closed 'moot court' sessions - i.e. preliminary run-throughs of the confirmation hearings.

This is not unlike 'witness prep' in a court case. And Graham (from what I've read here and elsewhere) fell into the trap that many lawyers set for themselves when they 'over prepare' a witness for trial.

They already know what the answer to every question will be, so they tend to interupt the witness mid-answer, or forget to ask certain 'foundation questions' altogether -- assuming (wrongly) that the judge/jury has already heard the answers they've rehearsed a million times.

It's not unlike the movie biz -- as they always say, if you're going to write, don't try to also direct.
