White Supremacists Taunted in Michigan
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/N/NEO_NAZI_RALLY?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=US

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- A group of white supremacists demonstrating outside Michigan's Capitol was far outnumbered by 500 protesters who were screened by metal detectors and kept separate by 6-foot-high chain-link fences.

About 75 people from the Minneapolis-based National Socialist Movement were met with taunts from the protesters in what police described as a generally orderly event.

State and city police reported 16 arrests, mostly for disorderly conduct and other misdemeanors among hundreds kept at bay from the neo-Nazis. Two people were taken to a hospital for minor injuries and a third was treated at the scene following scuffling between protesters and neo-Nazi supporters, police said. snip

Group leaders said they picked Lansing as a rally site in part because of Michigan's sluggish economy and white supremacists' growing frustration with illegal immigration's effects on employment.

3. Are they as bad as Illinois Nazis?
Jake: Hey, what's going on?
Officer: Ah, those bums won their courtcase so they're marching today.
Jake: What bums?
Officer: The fucking nazi party.
Elwood: Illinios nazis...
Jake: I hate Illinios nazis.

4. I saw them on local news
It was gross seeing them on the steps of the Capitol building as they spoke. Don't know why that made it worse, the building is already defiled by the republican majority and protests or rallies usually gather there. But if I ever need to go there I don't want to use that entrance.

The reason there were only 800 or so protesters is that they were holding a diversity/unity gathering many blocks away. People were encouraged to gather together in celebration rather then give attention to the nazi freaks.

(The local paper reports 800 protesters. It said "They shouted "Sieg heil" to which the crowd responded, "Go home" and expletives.")

5. "Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time."
Always nice to hear that there's an active anti-fascist presence massively outnumbering the nazis.
