HARD WATCHING so perhaps not good to watch
but if you are interested in how far we have moved with disaster response (and your Spanish is good) these two videos are from the Mexico City Quake...

http://museocrm.blogspot.com/2009/12/videos-terremotos-mexico-1985.html

What a mess.

As bad as Haiti was... compared to this, it was a marvelous response. Realize it was this which led to most of the modern developments. Oh and it was so many lessons learned... it wasn't even funny.

Some choice things... Mexico city got boxes of stuff... medicines that could not be used (in a panoply of languages) mixed with clothing and food so time was wasted in separating stuff and classifying stuff into medicine pile, clothes pile, food pile, and so it goes.

Oh and the extrication procedures, what procedures? They do show the Virginia team... they did not identify anybody, but the gear is really primitive.

But if you are truly interested in how far we have advanced in disaster response...

And for me it was a walk down memory lane... I knew some of those people who are running that blog.
