What's the best thing you've gotten on freecycle?
And what's the best thing you've given?

We are ridding ourselves of things, so I haven't picked up anything yet.

We just gave away a really nice exercise bike that was just sitting in the garage. I didn't post it, but saw a post from a woman who requested exercise equipment. After a quick note, I felt she would really appreciate it and use it as she wanted to shape up after having her second kid.

3. Best thing I have gotten was a crib for one of my twins.
We had one from our first son for the other twin. The second best thing was a Little Tikes climber.

The best things I have given were two Graco infant car seats to another mother of twins and two Boppy pillows to a Doula. Last week I gave my sewing machine that was sitting in the basement going unused to an organization that was opening an orphanage in Africa.

4. I've given away and gotten a lot of things
We had a somewhat older laptop we didn't need that we gave away - that would be the nicest thing we gave away.

The nicest thing we got was probably an old school desk for my daughter to do artwork at.

5. An acquaintance lives in Eugene, Oregon
She has got 2 cars, a motorized wheelchair, one of those sleep-number beds, and a generator.
She used to sit on it 24/7...and she was getting the stuff and selling it.
I am not sure if they figured her out (she has an awesome pity story) but for some reason, she doesn't "freecycle" anymore.
She has moved on to craigslist.

8. I got an expensive queen size mattress and box springs for
my guest room. It was in great shape. As a matter of fact, it was in such great shape, my daughter swapped it for hers. Little brat. I also got five brand new expensive cookbooks, which I collect.

I've given away a couple of computer monitors, a futon mattress, and a frame for a swingset; also gave away a working hot water heater and a working washing machine.

It's great, but sometimes I just can't monitor it closely enough. You have to be quick.

9. red rock
I got some red rock for a path I was building.

I gave away a set of Creuset once. Boy, that person was happy as a clam to get it.
