when they say that ANYONE can get a mortgage these days...
....is it true? Can someone with poor credit get a mortgage? I realize the terms would be punitive, but is it possible at all?

2. Depends on a lot of factors....
One of your best bets is to walk into a bank and talk to a mortgage expert. You won't know until you ask. Take a Valium, walk in and hear the worst. Houses are the most likely item to get a loan because they're real tangible property and you're already spending a large portion of your income on housing.
