Chivas USA at Red Bulls NY, - high score game for lowest scorers in league
Edited on Mon May-22-06 10:01 PM by Kire
Giants Stadium, Secaucus, NJ - 5/20/06

The Red Bulls are the only team not to have won a game in the MLS so far this season and their star Amado Guevaro was sitting in the bleachers with his wife because he's a quitter, but they broke the streak today.

They started the game with an exciting 3-0 lead, but they got complacent. Chivas pulls up to make it 3-2. Red Bulls' Peguero scores a hat trick and the Bulls' fifth and final goal in the 89th minute, but Chivas scores yet another goal on penaly in stoppage time.

All four scorers did so multiple times. Peguero scored three times, and Seth Stammler scored twice for the Red Bulls. Paco Palencia and Ante Razov scored two each for Chivas USA.

This is still considered a flash in the pan for the struggling Red Bulls. After all, even though they won with five goals, they gave up four. The Red Bull company may still be wishing they stuck to energy drinks.

But the New York fans like me have a reason to celebrate, at least for today.
