I found this article in 2002 and it fascinates me. It's one of the better examples I've seen of the value of feminism in bringing new understanding to the world about previously misunderstood history and historical figures. A note for those who are concerned: this article does not contain (in my view anyway) gratuitous descriptions of a violent crime. I mean, I wouldn't read it before bed or a meal, but I don't think it's the kind of article that's going to give you horrible nightmares for the rest of your life.
http://www.feminista.com/archives/v4n1/gage.htmlIf feminists want to respond here only, that's fine, of course, but we're trying to resuscitate the True Crime forum at the moment. So if you like the article or find the Fall River murders interesting to discuss generally--throw a little attention our way in the TC discussion section, would you? Thanks.
