I stole this from a matcom post in the Lounge. I hate ageism, especially the way it impacts women. I think of it as a feminist issue--just one more way women are oppressed by grotesque, sexist parameters of what makes a female important in terms of appearance, abilities and sexuality. I think of this story as a gigantic screw-you to ageist ideas. The article's not too badly written either. Hope that loads for everyone.

I hate ageism also especially since I worked in long-term care for so many years. And it ties in nicely highlighting what crap a women is "supposed" to look like to give her value.
