AXE body wash
Anyone else find these commercials disgusting?

At my workplace, we got a big box of Axe samples. The sample was a CD with the sillouetes of naked, buxom ladies all over it and it said something like "playas only" with a warning that said something like "this CD contains bendable, flexible, co-eds and may not be suitable for spinsters, children or married couples."

I dumped mine in the trash. But of course, some of my male co-workers took some home. Apparently the cd features girls having a pillow fight in their underwear and is a program for setting up multiple dates (like an electronic black book).

1. AXE and TAG--uck
My sons (and the whole neighborhood) fell for the media crap and for a while seemed addicted to the spray.

I had to make a rule that it could not be sprayed in the house. I didn't even realize what the fad was until I saw a ridiculous commercial for "TAG".

One of my employees was actually involved in the initial ad campaign for "AXE" and he hated working on the compilation of the silouettes. He is a male feminist and had not put the AXE campaign in his portfolio since he thought it would hurt him professionally.

5. Good for him!
It is a ridiculous campaign. It makes women out to be complete objects.

lol--good rule for it not to be sprayed in the house. It does smell horrible.

2. Funny
I thought of that last night when I was watching something on TV and every single advertisement break included "Girls Gone Wild". Disgusted I switched to something else and saw about 6 of those AXE commercials.

My sons, when they were still living at home knew that when a "Girls Gone Wild" commercial came on they had to change the channel. I was not trying to protect them because at some point you just can't but I simply told them that they were offensive to me. When watching the Comedy channel at night they would keep the remote close just for that reason. I am certain they do not change the channels in their own homes.

Really, men and women, who would not be offended by a grown man standing next to a young woman holding up her shirt and he says, "Show me where the babies eat."? Disgust is too kind a word for that.

3. I have banned "The Man Show"...
and believe me I am the first to scream censorship usually but that show is really offensive and inappropriate.

Luckily, my kids aren't big TV watchers(nor am I)but some of these shows go beyond being cute or funny.

4. Is that still on?
I saw the first minute of that show and threatened anyone in my house with bodily harm if I ever came home and found that show on.

I feel as you do about censorship but if I have to live with all men in my house I must insist on some things.

7. Oh how I loathed that show.
Is it still on? What a disgusting piece of crap show. I was appalled that Comedy Central let it on. I know CC has always had a male slant, but still...

12. Wow. I'm so glad my TV doesn't get any reception.
"Show me where the babies eat?!?!?" Funny how people like this are usually the ones who get all up in arms about breastfeeding, like breasts are some obscene, dirty thing on par with a dead body. Funnier still how they're the very ones who've made it that way. Ugh. I fucking HATE advertising.

8. Oh, HURL!
I've never seen their ads (thank all that's holy, it sounds like they're repellent), but that stuff frigging STINKS! My stepsons were using it until I had a conniption. The stuff was driving me into allergic fits every morning. It stunk so bad after they hosed themselves down with it in the bathroom that the whole house just reeked of it. That stuff is FOUL. I told them maybe they should try just showering more frequently and forget the perfumes.

10. The "V.I.X.E.N.S" is what was on the CDs I was told to give out.
It is absolutely awful.

14. I hate the A-X-E ads
because most of them seem to be saying, "buy this product, women will throw themselves at you! As a man, it's ESSENTIAL that women be throwing themselves at you! Or else, you know, you're not all that manly--ARE YOU???" A lot of scary homophobia being reinforced there.
