Federal Crackdown On Child Prostitution Results In 884 Arrests
CNN) -- A three-day federal crackdown on child prostitution rings across the country has resulted in the recovery of 69 children and the arrest of 884 people, including 99 pimps, federal authorities said Monday.

Meanwhile, in Tennessee, authorities announced Monday they were arresting 29 individuals involved in gangs that trafficked underage Somali and African-America girls in a prostitution ring. The 29 people were connected to the Somali Outlaws, the Somali Mafia and the Lady Outlaws, officials said.
The three-day federal sweep, called Operation Cross Country V, involved 40 cities nationwide and is part of the Innocence Lost National Initiative, authorities said.

"Child prostitution continues to be a significant problem in our country, as evidenced by the number of children rescued through the continued efforts of our crimes against children task forces," said Shawn Henry, executive assistant director of the FBI's Criminal, Cyber, Response and Service Branch, in a written statement. "There is no work more important than protecting America's children and freeing them from the cycle of victimization. Through our strategic partnerships with state and local law enforcement agencies, we are able to make a difference."

The city where the most children were recovered was Seattle, Washington, with 16, said FBI Special Agent Jason Pack. Seven pimps were arrested there, he added.

Following Seattle were Tacoma, Washington, and Sacramento, California, each with seven child prostitutes retrieved by authorities, Pack said. Two pimps were arrested in Tacoma and three in Sacramento, he said

Well, it's just Lovely to live a state with the top two contender cities Seattle and Tacoma. I could look at it as the cup half full, seeing how they 'busted' the most up here.

So how is 'legalizing' prostitution going to fight the desire of sexually entitled males for 12 years olds? Of either sex, not just girls, although we don't hear as much about the male street prostitutes. I've posted many times about how all my young male sex worker friends from my teenage years (late 70's early 80's) are almost all of them dead from AIDS. With the resurgence of AIDS, I'm terrified for the young men out there now, as well as the young women. Not to mention the children, which is what this 'crackdown' is about.

I end up thinking just decriminalize it and throw johns and tricks in jail, offer strong social support for young prostitutes including easy access health care and a way out of the life. At least show them another direction.

It won't happen as long as it's considered a moral crime, instead of a economic and human rights one based on sexism.

1. Your last sentence really hit it on the head.
This is not about morality, at least not in the way most think it is. It's about human rights and the socioeconomic status of women and children - especially women and children of color.

2. all the countries that have legalized has had increase of child slavery/sex slavery
it has made it tougher to go after the criminals. it has not eliminated the criminal eliminate out of the mix. i dont get all the people saying legalized prostitution for the concern of prostitutes when we have evidence world wide it makes it worse.

sweden has found a dramatic decrease in prostitution by not criminalizing the prostitutes but the johns.

3. Children!

It is maddening enough knowing that sexism programs people so that a lot of men out there look at other adults, women, and instead of seeing people, somehow they see "sex toys." Walking, breathing, talking, moving, intelligent "sex toys."

To then have to read articles like this and know that there are also people who look at children, kids!, and their brains process even kids as "sex toys" is just...

What are the words after Heartbroken? Nauseous? Physically ill? Angry doesn't seem to be enough. x(

I feel like I should be grieving for these kids that we don't know, and I don't even know if that is appropriate. Hopefully they are all alive, as well as possible, have been rescued, and will get help to recover from what they've been through.

If I was a religious person I suppose this is where prayers would be appropriate. :(

•taking longer than usual to reach orgasm
•only being able to get there via masturbation
•not being able to peak at all

•First and foremost is the fact that millions of men of all ages are now taking SSRI-based antidepressants such as Prozac, Zoloft, and Paxil, which not only have the side effect of delaying orgasm, but, in many cases, eliminate it altogether.
•The rapid proliferation of Internet porn also plays a role. Easy access to porn has made over-masturbation by men more common, which can lead to an increased latency period (the time it takes to reach orgasm) during real sex.
•With so many varieties of porn at their fingertips, men who masturbate regularly to it often become habituated to a steady flow of sexual novelty and intense visual stimulation, making it harder for them to reach peak levels of sexual arousal with their real-world partners. Call it Sexual Attention Deficit Disorder, a topic I’ve written about for "Good in Bed" and which addresses why too much masturbation to porn can mess with a guy’s sex skills.
•When a guy masturbates, he's often applying significantly higher levels of pressure and friction than during real intercourse, so he may get used to a different kind of physical feeling. It’s called developing an “idiosyncratic masturbatory style.” There are now a lot of guys who can get past the point of no return only via oral sex or manual stimulation (usually their own).
