Another Woman murdered. Connection? Craigslist ad....
Craigslist ad led to Jacksonville slaying and Southeast Georgia suspect

Georgia resident stands accused in the fatal stabbing.

Posted: July 26, 2010 - 11:06pm

By Deirdre Conner, Jim Schoettler
The man who responded to Tiara Pool's personal advertisement on the website Craigslist.org wasn't just a potential paramour - he was her killer, authorities said Monday.

Jacksonville police have charged a Southeast Georgia man with fatally stabbing Pool in her Hodges Boulevard apartment while her Navy husband was at sea.

David Kelsey Sparre, 19, was arrested Saturday at a family member's home in Charleston, S.C., and charged with the July 12 slaying of the 21-year-old woman, said Lt. Larry Schmitt, who leads the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide unit.

Pool was found dead of multiple stab wounds at her home in the Country Club Lakes apartments by friends checking on her well-being. She hadn't been seen since July 7.

1. Sick, typical violence against women

I've been rereading a few of Stephan King books, and while I'll never consider him a 'pro-feminist' author, nor would he want to be considered one I'm sure, I give the man credit for trying to present all sides of a situation.

I went to half-price books today, and picked more Sherlock Holmes stories, "The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets" by Barbara G. Walker (that one is going to be such fun) the last book of a fantasy series I've been waiting for and Stephen Kings "The Dead Zone" I haven't read it in at least 20 years. (I looked at, but did NOT pick up some horrid book on rape as it was titled "Rape and Evolution" or something like, a Tarzan Darwin evolutionary psychologists bullshit wet dream in print)

A couple of paragraphs from a first time killers' perspective on a woman he murderes from "The Dead Zone",

He recognized her. It was Alma, Alma Frechette from the Coffee Pot across the street. Just coming off shift. He knew Alma; he had dated her up once or twice, shown her a good time. Took her over to Serenity Hill over in Naples. She was a good dancer. Nasty-fuckers often were. He was glad it was Alma coming.

"As simple as that. She went with him to the bandstand. If anyone had been coming, he still could have called it off. But no one came. No one passed. They had the common to themselves. The white sky brooded over them. Alma was a small girl with light blond hair. Dyed blond hair, he was quite sure. Sluts dyed their hair"

It's a brutal little chapter, (Another thing about King though, it's more about what behind the gore than the gore itself) but he paints a picture of a man who is going to, planning on killing, kill a woman, using her sexuality and gender as a fulcrum.

(King also touches on our archetypal nightmares and uses what I call Serial Killer Freudian psychology. In sick or getting sick characters that are human rather than from the paranormal, he always has something to say about Mom or Pop. In this case it's Mom)

2. Very interesting....
...seems related to the Bob Herbert editorial posted a while back, regarding men who murder women.

Or at least, that the author is creating a character like that. Sounds like an intriguing read.
