Bitch hasn't had sex in years!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=3894462&mesg_id=3894462

In this thread, the OP describes an experience with a rude customer. In the VERY FIRST response, the OP is assured that it's okay, the rude customer just hasn't had sex in years.

Why is is assumed that if a woman is rude, it has to be a result of not having sex? As if she would suddenly become all 'sweetness and light' if only she were tamed by the Mighty Male Member? And why is it always men who think this? Can't a women just be a rude asshole, without having her sexual experiences brought into it?

There are times I just shake my head..

1. my ex always said that to me
if i was in a bad mood, he would ALWAYS come back with 'you just need some sex!' just because it relieves HIM, it is supposed to be good for me? a heart to heart talk would go a lot farther than sex.

usually the reason i was in a bad mood in the first place was because he was already treating me poorly, so this retort just pushed me farther away. i did say 'ex', right?! ;)

2. I'm always amused by that tendency in men.
When their woman is completely and totally pissed off at them, and yet they assume that a roll in the hay is all it will take to fix the problem! Hel-lo? Wanna answer that clue phone? :)

4. Hey, projection - ain't it fun?! /sarcasm
1. A woman steps outside her pre-defined role - she's a bitch - per post #2

2. Women only step outside their pre-defined roles because they're not kept barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen in which case we'd all be happy little stepford girls.

Oh yeah, we've come a long way, baby.

:sarcasm:

No, we can't have that, can we? She MUST be a bitch!

5. I've heard both men and women say that about
any unpleasant woman in power, from the bad boss to the bad government official to even the bad bureaucrat. I'm afraid I have a nasty habit of asking them just what they expect a male's golden appurtenance to cure and how it's supposed to work.

I'm a lot more offended by this sort of remark than I am by hearing anyone label her a bitch.

8. Sex seems to solve any problem for guys, they really don't
understand why it doesn't solve every problem for women. Clueless, I guess.

18. Except, I've never heard anyone say "He's in such a bad mood, he must
need sex." Instead they just say some variant of "what a jerk" or "he's having a bad day."

Maybe others have.

That's why I tend to view it as sexist--men have the magical power to cure all that ails the little woman, but the reverse is not true.

6. I have never understood
why they actually think their glorious member actually defines anything?

Once, just once my husband made a similar remark. One perhaps a little worse in some ways.

One of our female dogs was nailed by a neighborhood dog. She was not in heat, she had been spayed, but he jumped the fence and nailed her on our deck right in front of the doors. It was awful and she was pinned against the house. When all was over and done and we got her in the house my husband smiled at her and said, "Rosie, you are a woman now." I lost it as you can imagine.

Somehow they manage to define everything in the world by their sexual apparatus.

7. Well, it seems to define everything for THEM, so therefore it
should define everything for everyone else! It is obnoxious, isn't it?

10. Oh very!
I still do not understand it though. Someone has to have done a study somewhere about why that is so. I mean, yes it serves a wonderful purpose and provides recreation but when and how did they come to the conclusion that they have about its power and why aside from the usual reasons?

I do know a few women who after having their children had to have a hysterectomy. It destroyed them because they were no longer women. I explained about hormones and their ovaries (they kept those) and how this simply was not true physically or mentally but it took them years to get over their feeling of identifying their sexuality and entire identity with that one organ.

Where does this come from? Does anyone know?

11. I don't know, but the day I had my hysterectomy was the third
happiest day in my life, after the births of each of my daughters. In fact, if I could have been given that discarded organ, I would have taken it home and had a bonfire to celebrate!

Beyond the obvious reasons, I do not know where the mystical power of the penis originated. I've seen Clinton's penis blamed for every catastrophe, natural and man-made, for the past ten years. Now THAT'S a mighty penis! :D

12. It's the "magic penis" delusion
See, a penis is the cure all....so if women just had more sex, they'd feel better since the magic penis can cure anything

13. Why doesn't the "magic penis" cure men of their assholishness?
Plenty of men can have plenty of sex and still be assholes!

14. But they don't see themselves as being the problem
they project onto women...

it goes back to the "frigd" woman myth(among other things)....as I'm fond of saying to men who call a woman frigid..."there are no frigid women, just inept men."

When a man claims all a woman needs is a good lay....he is really saying...she needs a man.

15. Sadly, at the dawn of psychotherapy/analysis
lack of sex was considered contributory to a woman's "hysteria" and depression--grrrr

One good thing to come from it was the vibrator. It was used as a treatment. I will look up the info if anyone is interested.

16. Well, if that's the case
Then you'd think guys would've done away with their stupid double standards along time ago. Just think of all the sex they'd be getting from cheerful and eager women if they'd, you know, stop calling women names, stoning them in the town square, burning them at the stake, mutilating their genitals, etc. etc. for having and enjoying it. Hell, they might even not have to pay for it. That's all I'm sayin'

22. Add my head shake to the condemnation of sex-free people.
Edited on Mon Jun-20-05 09:13 PM by BlueIris
Especially if those people are women. I wish people wouldn't confuse lack of sex with lack of orgasms or lack of sex and/or orgasms with lack of other pleasure or happiness. I'm perfectly content leading my celibate life, thank you. No, it isn't because of some "medical or health issue." No, I'm not making any more of a "choice to remain celibate" than you are making a choice to make sex a part of your life. No, I am not trying to oppress others, supress female sexuality or criticize the sexual. Okay, it's time for me to go home, now. Goodbye!

25. Or just plain havng a bad day
The last time I nearly bit a man's head off was a few years ago on one of those proverbial bad days when everything, both large and small, seemed to be getting messed up.

In order to decompress, I decided to walk over the the gym (10 blocks from where I lived at the time) and swim a few laps.

So I'm waking down the street with single-minded determination, visualizing splashing my frustrations away, when I this geeky-looking guy coming from the other direction says,"Hey, pretty lady, why aren't you smiling?"

I just lost it and yelled at him, "Because I'm fed up with idiots like you!"

I suppose that he walked away muttering something like, "All I did was tell her to smile. She must be on the rag or need a roll in the hay."

26. "She must have PMS"
That line makes me quite literally see red. I've been known to go off on a rant about men having PMS 365 goddam days of the year when one was unwise enough to use it in my presence...
