Corn syrup-free foods.
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 05:43 PM by Fridays Child
Obesity and Type II diabetes have become epidemic since the assault on our food supply by the corn syrup industry began back in the '70s. Here is an article with more about that. In my opinion, the stuff is downright deadly, and I'd like to start a list of corn syrup-free foods for myself and my DU friends. Hopefully, this will develop into a valauble resource for all of us, so please add to the list, whenever you can.

Oroweat Honey Fiber Whole Grain Bread

Jack-in-the-Box (http://www.thedisseminatedgroup.com/366.html)

Chicken Breast Strips
Ciabatta Bread

Pita Bread
Salami

Burger patty
Jalapeno Poppers
taco sauce

Heinz Organic Catsup

Some Breyer's ice creams (read labels)

Late July Snack Foods (also trans fat/hydrogenated fat-free)

1. Pretty much anything I buy at
either the health food store or the natural section of my supermarket is corn syrup free. Most of the smaller companies, especially those that specialize in organic products do not use corn syrup.

Also wanted to mention that Orowheat also goes by the name of Brownberry in the Midwest and Arnold in the East (in case not everyone knew this).

2. I gave up sodas and was looking for a drink without corn syrup
I was very pleased to see that apple cider is corn syrup free. It's a nice occasional treat to have hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick.

3. Do you mean HFCS?
I avoid anything with that on the label.
