I hesitate to call it a diet because the focus isn't on weight loss. It's on eating a "plant-strong" diet & the health benefits that go along with it (weight loss being only one of those benefits). I've looked the book over & reviewed the recipes. Most of them sound really good, too! :)

1. I've now dropped the weight of a full-grown woman eating that way.
134 lbs. gone and counting. I was beyond that "point of no return" where obesity takes on a life of its own for many, many people, weighing in at 519 lbs. at my maximum. Since embarking on a similar lifestyle (The McDougall Plan -- find out lots more at www.drmcdougall.com) I'm now at 385 and I'm getting a lost life back. I am looking forward to reaching a goal weight of somewhere in the range of 200 - 225 (6'3" and very large frame) by the end of next year.

Even if you're not morbidly obese and/or beset by life-threatening health complications, this is without a doubt the best thing you can do for yourself. And trust me, the food is awesome and you won't become bored.

2. Yes, I've found it to be rather filling as well
:)

I haven't gone full-blown vegan though, but I'm not buying meat at the store or preparing it at home. And I've been surprised at how quickly my body has reacted to the partial switch.

Congrats on your weight loss!! :yourock:
