An update on my weight loss.
I haven't posted for a while. In my last update. I had just hit my goal of 175# I realized then that I had a ways to go yet. I changed my goal to 155#. I'm not quite there. I'm sitting here at 158# Down from 266.

I'm in the normal BMI range for the first time since I was about 6 yrs. old. I still can't believe it. I'm making up for all the things I've missed for the last 30 years. I've relearned to ride a bicycle. Oh, that wasn't pretty. It took me hours to even get both my feet on the pedals. I'm still scared of falling, but I can ride!

I'm also taking my Pom for real honest to goodness walks. I couldn't walk a block before and he wouldn't go out of the yard. Now, we're all over town.

One day at a time.

That's when I feel the most gratification: When I'm able to do things that I couldn't before because I was too heavy.

How are you losing the weight?

3. Just watching what I eat.
I use http://www.sparkpeople.com/ to track my food and exercise. I make it into kind of a game. I don't use their diet plan. I just make up my own. I keep tweeking it to see if I can get all the nutrition in that I need. They really have a great support system. I can't say enough good things about them.

5. I was just thinking about posting a thread asking who here was on SP.
There used to be a DU group there....

I signed up for SP last spring, but just didn't get into using all the features. I returned this past April after loosing so much ground over winter. It's replaced my discussion board addiction from DU to SP.

I love SP and am doing the same thing, using their trackers, while setting my own nutritional goals (lower carb than SP's recommendations because of insulin resistance). I love that it's customizable that way (though it will sometimes change back to their recommendations when you update your weight or goals).

7. No, not yet. I'm still perusing the 810 "Other" category of teams. Saw the Obama 2012 team there.
Thanks for the well-wishes. I'm at that age where getting healthy doesn't come so easy anymore. Still attainable, just need to work a bit smarter at it. :hippie:
