Hi all! I'm on the South Beach Diet and it should be called
The south bitch diet cause thats how I'm feeling. This is day 5 and i know it's working but I'm a little tired truth be told and a tad grumpy. Anyhow i got a treadmill about 3 1/2 weeks ago and started using it and much to my surprise after 2 weeks of 5 days a week i actually went down almost a whole pants size so i was feeling very encouraged and decided to give SB a try and so far it's been pretty simple but not so much fun. Anyhow I'm just boohooing here cuz i miss bread but I'm also feeling good about my progress so far.

1. Look at it this way...
if you were still eating the bread, and all those extra carbs, you wouldn't be enjoying wearing smaller pants. I'm doing my own version of Atkins, and one of the things he says in his books, is that you may feel tired the first week or so, but thereafter, you will/should find you will feel like you have extra energy, and start sleeping even better. That's great that you also are using the treadmill. I've got a treadmill that I look at every single day, but need to actually get on and use! How far are you going on it daily, and at what speed?

Congratulations on such success in such a short time!! :bounce:

2. Thanks for the encouragement, i need it
and i'm on the treadmill 4 or 5 days a week for about an hour. I don't run, i walk at about 3 to 3 1/2 miles per hour and i raise up the incline for short periods and i am a sweaty mess when i get off.

4. You might want to cut back while on Phase 1
That's the advice I've seen from others on S.B. Phase 1 is a little taxing, and too much exercise is just too punishing to the body. You're NOT doing this to punish yourself, are you? ;-)

Good luck! I'm trying very hard to get back on SB myself. I posted my story in the "craving sweets?" thread.

5. Thanks for the advice, i appreciate it! I start week 2 today
and i'm actually feeling better and for the 1st time in my life i'm not that interested in food so it must be working. I cut back on the treadmill to 30 to 45 mins 5 days a week instead of and hour 6 days a week as well. Good luck with getting back on and keep me posted please.:hi:
