packed it on for 27 years - unpacking
Maybe "unpacking" -- losing weight -- is like unpacking a huge box full of ancient, delicate china. Take one piece carefully out of the box. Slowly peel back the folds of paper. Flatten the paper, then gently pick the china up and put it on the table - without making a sound. It is so fragile that the slightest harsh touch can break it. Even the pressure caused by being held in two fingers can cause a crack. Unpack quickly or carelessly, and you'll wind up with a bunch of lovely china shards.

It's not a perfect analogy. Take weight off fast, and I'll just put it back on; but unpacking this china carelessly, I won't wind up with a box full of wrapped china again. (And who could use china this delicate, anyway?)

But I'll take anything that'll help. If I can think of losing 1-2 pounds per week in terms of being patient and unpacking a piece of precious china slowly, maybe that'll help somewhat.

I think the last time I was hungry (until now), I was a kid. I started packing on the poundage when I was able to feed myself. That was at age 16, when I had my first job. At a fast food joint.

1. I'd say walk like your life depends on it
because it does. Walk everyday and fill up on vegetables first before eating anything else. That's working great for me! Oh and I don't own a scale, my clothes are fitting better so I know I'm making progress.
