1. Good afternoon!
How was your walk this morning? Just the fact that you were up and wanting to get out and move is wonderful! You should feel good about yourself! Were you able to add a couple of blocks to your usual routine? :hi:

3. good Saturday Morning to you!
Did you walk again today? It's too darned cold here in MI these days to get out too early, that and the fact that I work till 11pm at night and don't get home till midnight makes it hard to get up early for anything.

:hi:
nice to see some posts on the board again :)

4. hi auntAgonist.
My best intentions this Saturday morning were thwarted by the computer when i sat before it until well past 9 o'clock this morning and it was just plain hot to go out and walk.

In a little while I will be getting ready to go to a wedding and have had it drilled into my head by the nutritionist at Bariatrics USA and the girls that do the weigh in, that i have a choice between eating whatever is offered (they are having a full course dinner)and gaining back a pound, or two, or more of the ones that i have just lost, or i can just take one of my protein bars along, eat that and at the most accompany it with some fruit and vegetables and keep off the pounds.

O God, o God, o God... if i don't weaken in my resolve, i will only eat my protein bar and some fruits and vegetables or a salad while watching everyone else eat chicken, or fish, and whatever else they serve and CAKE.

I haven't had a piece of Cake since i started this diet back in January and i dream about having some creamy, yummy, vanilla sweeet, sweet stuff...but i like having these pounds off...so i hope i come through for myself and stay off the food and the pounds stay off of me.

5. why does it have to be one or the other ?
can't you eat the food but just limit the portions ? i'm guessing you don't have these type of events that often that it can make a huge difference.

maybe eat something healthy and filling before so you aren't hungry and crave everything they serve.

6. hi there.
that is exactly what i ended up doing (despite advise to the contrary--probably because my metabolism is sooooo loooooooowwwwwwwwwww that it takes me forever to lose just one pound)...but, i did have a small salad at the house before i left, and took a protein bar with me to the wedding, vowing all the time that i wasn't going to eat, however, when food time came around i was famished and when they served a puffed pastry with some filling, i ended up eating the filling (mushrooms and dried tomatoes and possibly spinach) in the puff pastry (but i didn't eat the pastry), then they served a very small caesar's salad, which i ate, and then, when they brought the stuffed chicken breast (with basically the same filling of the puff pastry but grounded very finely) i ate that and passed on the roasted oven potatoes, rolls, and DELICIOUS DESSERT, and gave them to my husband... I over ate last night (when measured against what i am supposed to eat every day) but, all in all, i have to congratulate myself for passing on the dessert, the rolls and the potatoes and also on the wine.

i have not gotten on my home scales this morning -- i am afraid to look.

(the wedding was, all in all, beautiful).

7. i think you did the right thing
as long as you go back to your regular plan now. passing on the dessert is especially a positive sign of your ability to control things since that's what you mentioned earlier as probably being your weakness.
