So how do you all stay motivated??
I went to the ob-gyne yesterday and learned I put on 20 pounds in the last 14 months!! So I started back on Weight Watchers (again). So little by little I have put on some weight and now realize I weigh more now then when I delivered my kids!! Any tips you have to stay motivated would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I did good today. But it's only the first day and I sit in bed now with my stomach growling. Ugh!!!

1. Hey, borlis, welcome to the forum!
sometimes, its hard to stay motivated. Luckily for you, there are several others here who are also doing WW, and that will probably help you.

By taking your first step, in rejoining WW, you are putting your health and your well-being as a priority. As you begin to notice positive changes, such as weight loss, clothes fitting easier, these small accomplishments will also feed your motivation. The better you feel, and feel about yourself, the more you will want to stay on your program.

Anytime you feel down, or want to stray from your program, please know that there's always someone here in similar circumstances, or someone who is able to help get you through the tough times. We do it for each other all the time! Just post, and someone will be glad to respond!!

:hi:

ps. as the the late night tummy growls, have you used up all your points already today? Is there anything you can munch on? Better to satiate yourself, than be awake all night, and then be bad when the hunger gets out of control....

2. Thanks.
I have been lurking here for a while now. I think my upcoming vacation to Florida in June has me in a major panic. A lot of my clothes are more snug. I am embarrassed to put my bathing suit on. I also have a history of heart disease and diabetes in my family. It's time to do something all right. I just need to be able to stay motivated. I am thinking of re-joining WW tomorrow instead of just trying to follow it at home.

3. Hi Borlis!
Welcome to the group. Don't let yourself feel deprived. Plan Plan Plan! Once your body realizes you're not starving it, you'll do ok!

Lots of good folks here Borlis, some doing WW online and some doing it in person. Best of luck to you. Use us as a sounding board when you need to, we're here pulling for you.

4. Thanks!!
I did ok today too. I was tempted at dinner time, but settled for a chopped salad and a piece of bread with butter. I know I should have skipped the bread and butter, but I still think I did good considering we had dinner at a really good hot dog/burger place. And while my little one was in preschool this morning, I took my dog for a walk.

5. Excellent day!
you are thinking about what you are eating, and making some difficult choices and sticking with them! Walking the dog was a great way to get in some exercise-- your dog enjoyed it too, I'll bet! :hi:

6. I've never done WW, but...
was there anything in that salad other than lettuce and the usual veggies?

Depriving yourself of necessary calories and nutrients is not going to help you lose weight--at least not permanently. I would throw something on it (nuts, or a small amount of hard cheese--I am a vegetarian, but if you are not, some grilled chicken or water-packed tuna are aso great options) to give it some staying power--especially if it is the last thing you are planning on eating for the day.

If the piece of bread was white bread, probably not a great choice, but it was also only one piece of bread. Try Ezekiel bread--it tastes awesome, and it is the healthiest kind of bread I have been able to locate thus far.

Good luck!
