Went to my Homegroup Last Night.
A lot of the people were sad. I wasn't sure what was going on but found out one of the guy's had his last relapse over the weekend. His son found him on sunday morning.

This disease sucks. I didn't know Mark but talking to the other guy's he was a smart, articulate young man of 35 years.

Please take care of yourselves, as will I and remember, this disease wants us dead. But as long as we have this fellowship and each other, we can live a long fruitful life clean and sober.

Have a good day KW and azDem.:pals: :grouphug:

John

2. Yeah, it does.
I had read some of your posts about your neighbor earlier. I just hope his stroke made him hit bottom because if not...........well, you know.

Maybe drop him off some literature, can't MAKE him read it, but we can pray for him. Maybe remind him, dying ain't no kind of livin.
Talk to ya soon.

6. in the words of the imortal bard
"sometimes everybody drops a turd"

I know GD has had you upset but ignore them

there's a lot of idiots here, young, ignorant or worse

but you know and i know there is an awful lot of GREAT people here who don't want to post in those threads (I have avoided them like the plague)

we all choose our battles. I, for some totally unknown reason, get pulled into Gay rights flame threads

bless them and move on, or fight them tooth and nail, but don't let the bastards get ya down!

you know why???

cuz...

7. I'm so sorry
It always hurts.

A good friend of mine-- a former sponsee just lost her mother to kidney and liver failure. Her mom never "got" recovery.

My friend had to do a lot of work to recover from her childhood, and one of the most grace-filled things I've ever seen was the way she tried to engage her mother in her own, and her children's life at the same time drawing clear boundries.

At her mothers death, the forgiveness part of recovery was complete. She completely blew me away. She said "All of the left over resentments, all the bad feelings, they were just gone" and "I'm just sorry she had to die alone" (She wasn't notified until after the death)
I am a nurse on a floor that deals with patients just like her mom all the time (transplant) and I know about these types of deaths. And I was able to tell her that God took her home way before the last breath left her body. I hope she took some comfort in that.
Peace to you, and I pray, in my agnostic way, for all who still suffer from this disease to find recovery.
