So I have started law school. I expected that I was going to be busy, but WOW! There's a lot of dense reading, and a ton of other stuff going on, too. It is all, ironically, very interesting, but it is making me feel like an old man. I went to bed at 10 last night! Also, I'm finding that for the first time in my life I'm actually having to take notes on what I'm reading - so that 15-page reading assignment I used to be able to knock out in about 25 minutes or so is now taking me upwards of an hour.

Whew!

It's good, though. It's good to be back in school. I know that things didn't have to work out this way, and I'm very thankful that they did. It's also good to be sober. Honestly, I've been feeling too busy to even think about my addiction - but I know I still need to make it to meetings, to work the steps, and to live my recovery. That's got to come first.

Anyway, I just wanted to check in here with you all. I hope everyone else is doing okay :pals:

1. I'm so 'proud' of you starting Law School!
not that I have any connection to your life LOL

but I am glad for you, in spite of the heavy load and wish you the best

it's been a mad house around here.

we paid off our 2003 car last month (a year early) and hubby needed a new car so he flew back to MO and got one off ebay, drove it 1100 miles home and we sold the old car last night, all since Wednesday morning LOL

but it's all good.....

5. Thanks, and you do have a connection to my life.
I know that all of this is just glass and wire and plastic, but I also know that on the other end of all the there's a living, breathing human being that's given me a lot of wisdom and courage.

Law School is quite an achievement, and you did it!

Hang in there, one day at a time with the studies.

I'm so glad you checked in!

:)

Oh yeah, I'm getting better-
got some antibiotics to target the "bad bugs"
in my stomach.

:hi: :pals:

7. Thank you
:)

I'm trying to take things one day at a time, like you said, and not get overwhelmed. I think it's easy to do, though, given the obtuseness of things I have been reading.
