I'm Critters, and I'm powerless over my emotions.

I preached a truly shitty sermon today. Really, just awful. And I know it's because I didn't put the time into it that I should have this past week. A few months ago, I really would've been down on myself about it. Thanks to the program--really--I'm able to admit it was bad, take responsiblity, and commit to trying harder this next week. The program teaches me to live one day at a time, and to admit my powerlessness and turn my weaknesses and problems over to my HP. I've thought these things and said them, but having to really work the program keeps all of this with me in a stronger, deeper way. I'm not knee-deep in self-punishment and recrimination as I would have been not long ago. And for this I am grateful.

Grateful I have a meeting tomorrow, too. And a wonderful sponsor.

And good friends on DU.

Now, I'm going to type up the next section of my step 1 work. Just getting this all down on paper helps, too.

and to be honest

I'm totally perplexed at the moment

thought I had figured out what to do with a certain situation in my life, and then it changed in an unexpected way, and I'm perplexed about how I feel about it.

I don't think I like it.

the most important questions are:

is it good for my recovery?

is it good for my self esteem?

is it good for me period?

Now do I have to answer those questions?
