I honestly think internet addiction may be one way I'm powerless
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 08:25 PM by mycritters2
over my emotions. I'm on here way more than I should be--when I should be doing other things. Like laundry and paying bills and cleaning the house. I know it's because I'm lonely and have friends here. But I'm beginning to think it's not altogether healthy for me. Not a reflection on others here, but just on my own poor life management skills.

Have you ever felt this way? I may raise this with my sponsor, as part of my step 1 work.

1. anything you use to mask or control your addiction eventually can make
your life unmanageable.

the internet is no exception. other choices are, sex, shopping, relationships, adrenaline through sports or working out, drama, reading and chocolate (to name just a few)

hell we use ANYTHING to mask the fear and feelings, perhaps the internet does make your life unmanageable

by all means discuss it with your sponsor.

2. I've found that I sometimes spend WAY too much

much time here.

It's interesting and fun, so there's the catch for me.
It's neat to communicate with so many interesting people
from all over the globe.

Also, DU has the largest concentration of people who
support my candidate. I don't find that anywhere else.

I'm STILL trying to learn what the hell MODERATION is.

If you feel it's controlling you, then YES!- discuss it with your sponsor.
