1. hooboy
no thanks! this is a bad time to "test" my psychological state.

i'm in the middle of two house deals with a major move coming up. if I'm not anxious and a tad depressed leaving my home of 10 years, there's something very wrong

what's good about today is I have tools to deal with the feelings and faith to keep putting one foot in front of the other

3. If you're in recovery, you're depressed.
We are not doing what we love to do. No need for a test.

4. I would qualify that by saying that is true of early recovery
Believe me, after you have been around awhile and really feel like you are starting to live again, recovery will not be depressing.

An old sponsor of mine used to admonish me, when I would get down in the dumps, not to leave recovery until the miracle happens. And the miracle will happen.

5. Thanks for pointing that out.
Waiting for the Miracle to Come is not just a Leonard Cohen song.

11. Clinically, depression is not diagnosed by gauging how
happy you are or are not. There are specific measures, and the question is, to what degree do you negatively deviate from you "normal" baseline. Most of the questions referred to this baseline only, and negative deviations. Yeah, it's a gloomy test but it makes sense, from an assessment standpoint.
