Holes
Holes
Ramon Pinero 6/6/2005

There are
holes now;
Holes in places
that were once
filled.

Holes in
places
where you
once lived.

Holes in places you
once laughed;
holes in
places
you once
cried.

There are
holes in
places in
my heart
and I don’t
know how
to
fill
them.

Could we
have laughed
with you
more;
or perhaps
cried with
you more
in your
lonliness.

Know that
you lived
in our
hearts
and in
our souls
even when
you were
not there.

There are
holes
here;
haunting
painful
holes
where
you once
lived;
where you
once
cried.

We will
build again
in those
places;
we will
build
memories
of
your
smiles;
we will
build
in those
empty
spaces
the
monuments
to your
life and
and listen
with our
hearts
the songs
of love
that you
send to
us;
We will
build
(in those
places)
A
monument
to those
years
(that seem
to be
only minutes)
you were
in our
lives.

We will
fill those
holes
with your
love
and build
a temple
and
across
the top
it will
say;

Antonio Lives here.
