In Memory Of James Douglas Morrison
I was a big fan of The Doors. I still am.

In Memory Of James Douglas Morrison

It started with "The End"
And ended with a prayer
Death is just a state of mind
When music's in the air

Not many listened to
The message you tried to send
But the lights are all still on
And the music's still our friend

Though many tried to follow
Only a few could understand
That you could only follow us
As the tempest swept the land

The idol is still hollow
The killer's on the road
But the 5 to 1's now 1 to 5
And they've all got guns to load

Our sister's still being ravished
The years have taken their toll
But we carry hope within our heart
Because the music is our soul

2. Nice work
I have a poem that mentions "The End," although it is not a tribute to Jim. I think that you are right about a lot of Morrison's work. Much of it requires some thought to comprehend and I don't think a lot of people wanted to meditate on it too much. "No one here gets out alive."
