Obama remark seen as racist
Crossposted at GDP. Please K & R. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5198918

Smart move by Obama. He is polling at 23% among whites in Pennsylvania. Channeling his mentor/pastor of 20 years will surely improve those numbers. :sarcasm: It is good to see Obama "transcend" race yet again in this campaign. :sarcasm:

-snip-

In the speech, the Democratic candidate spoke of his white grandmother "who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."

On WIP, Obama said: "The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, there's a reaction that's been bred into our experiences that don't go away, and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that's just the nature of race in our society."

-snip-

"We doubt this story will have legs, but wonder if Hillary Clinton referred to a 'typical black person,' would we ever hear the end of it?" Dan Gross of the Philadelphia Daily News wrote on his PhillyGossip blog.

"Seriously, Barack Obama basically called all white people racist. ... Is this guy kidding?" wrote Taylor Marsh on Huffington Post in midafternoon.

3. I want my candidate to think better of me. There is contempt and resentment

in that expression and it burns me that it went to the one person who was consistently loyal and responsible to him as he grew up. The ingratitude makes me hit the ceiling!
We all have little resentments against members of our family - but basic decency makes us usually keep quiet about them - or at least not broacast them to the world.
The Jerry Springer candidate!:banghead:

13. He hasn't got a bucket big enough
to bail out the overflow
from the shitstorm that
started with Wright. Every
time Obama has scooped a
bucket of shit off his deck,
he has thrown it into the
wind. And he has suffered shitty
blowback of his own making.

15. Personally, never seen the whoremedia do their best to
prop this man up. I believe they are overlooking the key point. Obama lied! For a year he kept telling the media and us that he never sat in on a sermon where preacher wright spoke any of this hate. A funny thing happened in his so called "race" speech, obama contradicted a year of denial. 1"Until yesterday,(Tuesday) Obama said the only thing controversial he knew about Rev. Wright was his stand on issues relating to Africa, abortion and gay marriage.2.His(obama's) initial reaction to the initial ABC News broadcast of Rev. Wright’s sermons denouncing the U.S. was that he had never heard his pastor of 20 years make any comments that were anti-U.S. until the tape was played on air.3.yesterday,(Tuesday) he told a different story. “Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes,” he said in his speech yesterday(Tuesday) in Philadelphia.

This is the cover-up by the whoremedia. Since the speech they all have been gushing about how great this speech was and it was delivered by an adult so adults could understand. BS. It seems unreasonable to hate whites and then expect them to vote for you. Yet, that seems to be the contradictory basis of Obama’s campaign of reconciliation.

From all I have read and the more I inform myself about Obama and the pastor and the views, this campaign I as of Wednesday renamed to the Obigot 08 campaign

17. Did you see ol' Chris Wallace of Fox "news" scolding the "Fox & Friends" for BO bashing?
Here's the links to two reports:

<http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Chris_Wallace_Two_hours_of_Obama_0321.html>

Chris Wallace to Fox hosts: Two hours of Obama-bashing is enough"

<http://mediamatters.org/items/200803210008?f=h_latest>

Chris Wallace criticizes Fox & Friends for "two hours of Obama bashing" in which hosts "distort[] what Obama had to say"

Not sure how this would go over if I posted this. Most of the BO kids would probably cheer Chris Wallace.

Or would they just jump me for bringing it up again?

16. We should all start referring to ourselves with his exact words because, "As A typical White Person"
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 12:07 AM by Up2Late
I find the way he used that phrase VERY offensive.

He may not be what most would call a racist, but he's definitely what I call a Neo-Racist. My definition of a Neo-racist is someone who says race doesn't matter these days and claims not to be a racist, but as soon as you point out their hypocrisy or the empty nature of their rhetoric, they almost immediately "play the race card" as most of his supporters and political operative do all the time.

Btw, I'm not really "a typical white person," (very atypical in fact), so I'm not suggesting that you have to be a "typical white person" to participate, just do it to bug the crap out of the Obama kids here.
