The way KO is going at it gasping between words, he sounds like he's trying hard to sell the importance of something really UNimportant.. Calling it OUTRAGEOUS! WHO, What and Where...????

I see it two ways.. either as trying to change the dynamic of the campaign and playing Obama as again a victim of the administration. Or something no one can prove..they have the perpetrators and they come up empty handed. Too little for an ongoing story..but should suffice and be recalled to cover the weekend.

7. Pretty much so. I wonder how big a deal they would have made of
it in 1992 when it happened to Bill Clinton?

Wright has really hurt him. They want to direct attention elsewhere.

2. Well, the other networks are covering it but they're not having a
hissyfit like Olbermann. In fact, at the moment David Gergen and Carl Bernstein are on CNN with Anderson Cooper discussing the white granny remark and race relations in general.

3. I changed to the History Channel..
a docu about an underground limestone cave built 4500BC..

His44 has a transcript of an interview with Cooper and Obama. Obama denying he has heard the inflammatory remaks made by Wright. In direct controversy of his PA speech.. Maybe, Cooper will bring it up and ask, why the recanting of the one on one inteview with Obama lying either in the interview or his PA speech? Which is it? What is the public to believe?

4. Bummer, I thought the History Channel documentary sounded
interesting so I switched it on, but in my time zone (PST) the subject is the German Autobahn.
I need to check out His44 too. Re your question of what is the public to believe: it ought to believe Obama is a run of the mill politco who wants to win more than he wants to play fair, despite advertising to the contrary.

5. I'm willing to wait for more details before I jump to any conclusions at all.
Of course, it needs to be investigated, but I'm not going to listen to any conspiracy theories right now. The Obama supporters over in GD-P are just going nuts over this.

if it distracted people.

Asst. Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, Maura Hardy..

The original story said 2 low level contract employees..who were both fired. The third was reprimanded ..Why would a SOS of CA.. fiddle around with a hot potato going back to Clinton? Doesn't add up. Is KO pretending to be BO for a night?

This is fucked up.....

Can we count on the Bush admin to do a fair investigation of this? Seems to me they'll want to cover for the Clintons any way they can.

I've been highly critical of Clinton during this campaign for various reasons but the truth is we know fuck all about this breach at this point and it's wrong to point fingers right now. Don't get me wrong. There needs to be an investigation right away by an independent body (not a Bush hack). Until we have that independent investigation, I'm not going to speculate on why these 3 individuals did what they did. I personally don't believe the Clinton campaign is involved in any way though, that's just my opinion.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23736254/
.......Doug Hattaway, a spokesman for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former first lady who is challenging Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, said of the current breach: "It's outrageous and the Bush administration has to get to the bottom of it."
