1. Maybe I didn't get the memo, but
When did Obama disavow Wright? As far as I know he denounced some of the sermons. To me this is a BIG difference.

2. I thought I read somewhere he was fired from the campaign - am i wrong about that?

just googled this one:
http://bigheaddc.com/2008/03/14/wright-forced-to-step-down-from-obama-campaign/

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a strong mentor to Sen. Barack Obama for over twenty years, has been forced to step down as a leader with Obama’s African American Religious Leadership Committee.
During a live interview with Keith Olbermann on Friday night, Obama would not say whether he fired Wright, or if the radical holy man stepped down on his own. Earlier in the day, the Obama camp had declined to say that Wright would be forced to step down.

Not really clear - but he does say he disagrees with him - and I keep kicking the thread for an answer to "who is right?" and get none.

3. Here is the issue with this
He denounced what Wright said but he did not denounce Wright himself directly. There is a big issue here because he needs to DENOUNCE Wright as he did Farrakhan but he didn't. So I feel he will be called on this.

4. He needs to denounce Wright.
Also, I was watching the Ohio debate when the subject of Farrakhan's endorsement came up. When asked if he rejected the endorsement, he hesitated. He had to be prodded into rejecting Farrakhan's endorsement, even though he denounced the things Farrakhan has said.

5. Precisely. These excerts from his book fit here too:
2008 March 16th -- Do these passages from Obama's book, "Dreams of My Father," distinguish him in any way from Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright?

"I CEASED TO ADVERTISE MY MOTHER'S RACE AT THE AGE OF12 OR 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites"

From Dreams of My Father, " I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER'S RACE".

From 'Dreams of my Father', "The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the THE OTHER RACE (WHITE) WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN JUST THAT: MENACING, ALIEN AND APART"

From Dreams Of My Father, "never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. IT WAS INTO MY FATHER'S IMAGE , THE BLACK MAN, THE SON OF AFRICA, THAT I'D PACKED ALL THE ATTRIBUTES I SOUGHT IN MYSELF.

From Dreams Of My Father:
"THAT HATE HADN'T GONE AWAY," he wrote, BLAMING WHITE PEOPLE,- SOME CRUEL, SOME IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives."
