5000774, Glorifying Obama Is One Of The Greatest Journalistic Failures In American History
Posted by Yossariant on Mon Mar-10-08 08:29 AM

By: Herb Denenberg, The Bulletin

03/07/2008

The mainstream media have just committed one of the most disgraceful acts of journalistic malfeasance and nonfeasance in the history of America. By glorifying, deifying and canonizing Sen. Barack Obama and failing to examine his record, the mainstream media helped assure his nomination. Some experts say it is already in the bag, even if Hillary Clinton completes her astounding comeback by winning Pennsylvania on April 22.

The second act in that journalistic disgrace is that after the outcome of the nomination process was almost over, suddenly the mainstream media came to its senses and started half-heartedly covering the whole Obama story, which if told, in my view, would make it apparent that he is unfit for the presidency...

If nothing else, the lame attempt to provide some balance to the Obama candidacy has already had one payoff. It showed that the senator is thin-skinned and incapable of taking criticism. It showed that, as this column has repeatedly stressed, he is not ready for prime time, and to even offer a candidate with such a thin resume is almost comical...

And now, let me introduce Sen. Obama when he is confronted with hard questions instead of adoration. This description is in the words of the Washington Post, a leading member of the mainstream media journalism known best for bias and dishonesty in reporting: "The day before the primaries in Ohio and Texas that could effectively seal the Democratic presidential nomination for him, a smiling Obama strode into a news conference at a veterans facility here. But the grin was quickly replaced by the surprised look of a man bitten by his own dog." That's because for the first time he actually got a few tough questions...

5000739, New poll shows that voters trust President Hillary Clinton to fix the economy.
Posted by Apollo11 on Mon Mar-10-08 08:23 AM

Rasmussen Reports has done two polls, asking voters which Presidential candidate they trust most to deal with the major issues facing America.

The results of the McCain v Obama poll were published on February 27th.

The results of the McCain v Clinton poll are published today (March 10th).

Here is my summary of the main findings (you can see the numbers below):

1. Hillary Clinton beats John McCain on the Economy and Taxes. McCain beats Obama on both of these issues.

2. Hillary does better than Obama on National Security and Iraq, although McCain leads both Democrats on these issues.

3. The one issue where Obama is way out in front is when people were asked who would do most to reduce corruption in the federal government. But you have to remember that the Obama poll was done back in February, when most Americans had never heard the name "Rezco".

I can't help but be reminded of the stories about Bill Clinton's successful Presidential campaign back in 1992, when James Carville put up a sign on the War Room wall that said "It's the economy, stupid!" B-)

Economy
Clinton 47 - McCain 41
McCain 45 - Obama 39

Taxes
Clinton 39 - McCain 37
McCain 42 - Obama 37

National Security
McCain 46 - Clinton 36
McCain 55 - Obama 30

Iraq
McCain 46 - Clinton 42
McCain 49 - Obama 39

Reducing Government Corruption
McCain 43 - Clinton 32
Obama 43 - McCain 34
