World War I Bounty Claims
Anyone know what these are? On the Kansas State Historical Society's website, on the page for WWI military records, you can click on "search online index of World War I Soldiers' Discharges". Clicking that takes you to a page called "World War I Bounty Claims". Filling in my great-uncle's name, I get two listings for his name, followed by a box number. So I'm assuming that I could find this, if I were to visit the State Archives & Library (which I hope to do at some point).

I've been getting microfilms of newspapers from the KSHS, and have found out a lot looking at obits.

At any rate, if someone could give me some idea what these bounty records are, I'd be grateful.
