Quiting cold turkey....going on day three....wish me luck
so far I don't feel the desire to smoke. My brain feels a little fuzzy in the front. Anyone know about that? I have a pretty porcelain pipe to suck on and wave around. Of course, there is nothing in it, but it gives me a placebo effect. I think the thing I liked most about smoking was the visual effects of the smoke wafting through the air, and the ability to play with the cigarette with my hands. Smoking has so many little props that go with it, lighting it....

I've got nothing but the utmost respect for anyone who quits cold turkey. I had really weak willpower so I did it with some help....

4. Don't quit. Surrender. And take the first step to recovery.
We have no power over cigarettes, they have power over us. You need to take the steps to recovery. If you want.
Good luck.

5. Good luck! I have the highest admiration for those of you who do it this way --
and it CAN be done, people do it all the time. So hang in there! :pals:

6. It is trhe only way to do it!
Good job.

I am smoke free for about 7.3 months.

The only way to stop smoking is to stop smoking. If you want to make it easier, try this:

Smoking is more habit than addiction (it really is). You should be able to foretell, if you think about it long enough, what your "triggers" are. (Getting in a car, leaving a building, etc..) if you can recognize them in advance and say to yourself, I am going to have a trigger here.. and then laugh about it when it happens, you defeat it forever*.

* It'll come right back if you fail. If you already know you have smoke your last cigarette, you won't fail.

PS: You have already smoked your last cigarette!
