Perfume Addiction/Obsession --
I don't know what happened. I used to keep just two fragrances ---
Banana Republic W warm weather
and
Angel for the autumn and winter.
I was happy for years just rotating those two fragrances.

Now I have different bottles of EDT piled in the
produce section of my refrigerator, not
to mention all the decants and samples in zip-lock bags.
(And the pure perfumes tucked away in a cool closet).

I'm obsessed, and I don't remember how this started.

How many bottles do you own?

1. I tend to be more like you used to be --
pretty much stuck on one or two scents. But then one of my three daughters will get me something new and if I like it, I now have a new scent.

My favorite is Chanel No. 5 but my daughter gave me Japanese Rose (or something like that) for Christmas and I really like it. I'll have to check when I get home.

Funny you should bring this up because I was watching an episode of Monk during the marathon last weekend and he mentioned Shalimar so I decided to look it up. I found a site (www.fragrance.net) that sells just about every scent you can imagine and they have a ratings system (like what age group -- Shalimar and Chanel No. 5 are for "mature") and customer comments. I thought it was fun checking out some the scents. :hi:

2. I just bought one ounce of
Chanel No 5 (the perfume).

When I was in my 2-fragrance phase, I absolutely hated No 5.

Now that I've become obsessed, I felt the need to test it, and I fell in love with it all over again. I have to stay away from the perfume web sites, 'cause I feel like I can easily get out of control.

4. Okay, it's called Japanese cherry Blossom
and it's from Bath & Body Works. So I guess good scents don't have to be expensive, huh? :)

8. Estee Lauder's "Super"
It's the only scent that is perfect for my chemistry, making it last all day without being overpoweringly obnoxious to others.

11. Right now, 2
No. 5 and Private Collection.

In my 20's, I had a gazillion bottles. Then I went through an aromatherapy phase where I mixed essential oils in a medium oil base. (That was when I learned an uncomfortable lesson that vanilla essential oil cannot go on the skin without it being in a medium...)Now I'm back to perfume again (the old school, tried and true stuff)and I use the essential oils for medicinal purposes. Maybe I'll go back to mixing them again in the future.
