Out-ran a pickup truck today...
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 11:54 PM by BiggJawn
Was coming down a hill and saw this truck coming up slowly behind me. So I "Got ON it" and pulled away from him. Hit 33 MPH and tried OH-so hard to hold it all the way down the hill. He passed me as I dropped below 25.

The kid in the passenger seat was looking at me out the back window with eyes the size of saucers....

Oh, but am I EVER paying for it tonight....I turned the last 3 miles into a 17-21 MPH hammerfest, too...

1. Hahaha. Don't you love doing that!
When I used to ride the road down on the San Francisco penninsula, I would occassionally pass someone going down the mountain. La Honda road was where I would kick it up to around 50 mph and literally fly by the cars. But I think my favorite was just around town in the 30 mph zone, where I'd just sit on their window. They couldn't speed, and I could keep up with them. Bikes are great. I hit 42 on my mountain bike yesterday. I love to brag, can you tell? Actually, my life is biking.

I remember reading somewhere that you aren't exactly the 135 pounds that I am. If so, I salute you. I am always filled with admiration and glee when I see that.

2. Yeah, I make Magnus Backstedt look small....
He's 6' 3", 205.
I'm 6' 4", 287.

And I LOVE going fast downhill.

3. That's huge.
Jobst Brandt is 6' 5". But he's lanky.
Yeah, I freaked out when I saw the size of that guy in the Tour. One look at the head tube tells it all.

4. He's my Hero. Big guys CAN ride just as well as the little guys.
My favourite 2 bikes have 62cm frames with about 5" of seatpost showing. I'm kinda long-legged....
