Who's been using an indoor trainer?
With the weather being so mild, I have gotten out a few times, but because cooler temps aggravate my asthma and time constraints, I've been pedaling away in the basement.

Since I either read or watch TV, it's not too focused, but I guess it's better than nothing. About March I plan to get more serious, but right now I'm doing about 50-75 miles a week.

So, what's your winter routine? Or do you take a break completely?

1. Got some rollers for the holidays
I've been doing 5 miles every few days trying to get my spin rate up. Doing 1 mile intervals @ 19MPH in 9th gear(14 speed bike) My goal is to do the whole 5 miles at 20MPH. I have no idea what a good routine is so I'm just kind of winging it.

I started off late this last spring so this year I'm trying to keep in shape and be ready for nice weather.

2. it was in the 70's today so we took a spin outside!
hubby uses rollers every morning for half an hour, but I have yet to try them out of fear I would go bobbling over sideways.....

3. I got in a hard 7 mile climb yesterday, but working as hard as I can when
the weather permits.

Thanking about joining the Y for a few months. Spin class. Worried the trainer will damage my bike. I have an old exercycle, and I tried duct-taping some tennis shoes to it to act like the clipless pedals. It's just so boring.

I am support staff for the Spring Season of the local Team in Training cycle program -- we ride rain or shine regardless of temps (ok not rides in torrential downpours). We start in about a month.

4. I tried to use mine
I had the bike on the trainer set up right in the middle of the house, thinking that I'd be more likely to use it if I tripped over it every day. Nope. I even tried using one of Carmichael's podcasts to break up the monotony, but it's still BORING to ride indoors.

I'm on my way to the Gulf coast for two months, and I'm hoping to ride while I'm down there. The temperatures have been pretty nice, from what I've seen on the weather reports, and it will be a nice break from the snow we currently have. I have my doctor's blessing (I'm 22 weeks pregnant), and I'm looking forward to being able to ride outside again.
