How are you all doing this weekend?
With Mother's day just around the corner it occurred to me that some of us will go through the day missing our Mums/Moms and wishing for what might have been.

For some there are other people who took on the role of Mother and they are as missed as Mom herself.

To all of us, sweetest memories, warm hearts and gladness on this Mother's Day.

rest in peace Mum.
gone too soon at age 69 from colon cancer 11 years ago this coming august.

1. I got to thinking about Mother's who have lost children
This Mother's day has got to be really difficult for you too! My apologies for not including you in my original post. By the time I got back to the computer my edit window had closed.

For all of you who have experienced loss, know that you are in my thoughts this weekend. I hope your hearts can feel the joy of having had that loved one in your life and not the sadness of having them gone.

with all my love to all of you...

kesha (wishing I was better with words, but the sentiment is real)

5. Missing my son
First mother's day without him. I have found that the anticipation, in this case, was worse than the actual day, however. Maybe it's the time passing..I don't know. I am still miserably sad but it is tolerable. my hisband and surviving son have been kind and gentle with me. I just wish he was still here..............

2. AuntAgonist, thanks for posting this.
I lost both my mom and dad this year. Here they were before any of us came along:

I miss them both very much especially at holidays like Mother's day and Father's day. Mom was a Dem, and a very strong one. She taught me to be liberal and Dad taught me to hate war (he was in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII). I thank them for making me the person I am.

Thanks again

4. Oddly enough, I seem to be fine.
Last Thursday was my mom's birthday - she would have turned 80.

Perhaps I'm distracted with church stuff, but I seem to be holding up pretty well, all things considered. I am so glad I still have Dad, and cherish every moment we have together.

Whenever we offer prayers on Mother's Day, I always include prayers for those who lost their mothers, those who lost children, those who have experienced the pain of alienation, barrenness, or broken relationships, and so forth. Mother's Day is often not a happy day for many people.

Thanks for reminding us of that, Kesha. :grouphug:
