I wanted to post this here among my friends.
My daughter miscarried. She found out by ultrasound Monday that no heartbeat could be found. The entire family was so excited about this and it would have been her and her boyfriend's first child (both are 35). They will both be awesome parents if they get the chance.

When she called me Monday I was numb for a time. Here was my sobbing, heartbroken little girl, my only remaining child, and I couldn't protect her; I was helpless to do anything. I know intellectually and absolutely that I can't protect her from life any more than I could have protected and prevented the accident that took my son's life. Emotionally, it still has me feeling lacking as a parent as silly as that probably sounds.

I'd appreciate any good thoughts/vibes for my Heather. I'm taking her for surgery today and her OB says they can try again in three months.

:hug: to all of you

2. May peace and comfort surround Heather,
and may there be even more for you. I think moms suffer even more when their children are hurting. :hug:

And wishing your daughter Heather the very best. Life sometimes feels very unfair.
I will have her and you in my thoughts,
"There is a sacredness in tears.
They are not the mark of weakness,but of power.
They speak more eloquently
than a 10,0000 tongues
They are the messengers
of overwellming grief
of deep contrition,
and of unspeakable love"
~~~Washington Irving~~~
love and peace,
4. I am so sorry for your loss.
I know what you mean about children. No matter how old they get, a mother's instinct is to try to protect them from pain. We can't do that.
I hope they do try again and become the awesome parents you predict.
6. I didn't see this until now either.
So sorry for your loss. :hug: Sending prayers out for you and the family. Though you can't protect your little girl from everything you are there for her to lean on and that is just as important if not more so. Remind yourself of that, often.
You are doing all you can do. I believe that your daughter and her mate will be wonderful parents when they are able to conceive again, and that you will be there to share the joy. Peace and healing to you and your family.
8. Pecwae, I'm so sorry to see this post. You are always there for
so many of the rest of us and my heart pours out vibes and love for you and your family.
My daughter's name is also Heather. I simply love that name. I even chose her name when I was at Girl Scout Camp Tecumseh in Indiana at the age of 12. Funny how you think about some things.
Since my husband's death I just feel like I'm spinning...often out of control.
I have hundreds of questions...and NO answers.
I feel like I'm in control of NOTHING!
I see this happened in February...I pray she is doing well....and will continue to send good thoughts your way.
Penny
9. Sincere thanks for your replies and love.
Heather is doing much better. She's discovered a lot of friends and coworkers who have gone through miscarriage, but just never speak of it. She's drawn much comfort from them as I have drawn from all of you.
