Retelling story of son's suicide brings healing
For two years after his 16-year-old son Trevor committed suicide, Scott Simpson's stomach churned and flipped and ached. He called his stomach "totaled."

For six months, Simpson woke up wondering, "Will I make it through today?"

"The next question I asked myself was, 'Do I want to make it through today?' " said Simpson, a framing contractor in Edmonds. "Some days I wasn't so sure."

Like a lot of parents who face such a tragedy, Scott and Leah Simpson asked themselves a lot of questions in the aftermath. They didn't see Trevor's suicide coming. Their son was a star athlete and honors student with a 3.95 grade-point average. He died in early 1992.
