Thanksgiving went as well as it could. Hard because my mom wasn't
here and my dad's b-day is just next week. And then Christmas, New Year's, the anniversary of her death, Valentine's day.. and so forth.

I dreamed about her last night. Only in the dream she was alive and she and dad were divorced. Except that talking with them I could tell that they still very much loved each other and were going to get back together.

Best I can figure was that my sleeping mind got things a little convoluted in terms of the facts of the situation, but I guess the bit about them still loving each other.. that might have been my brain struggling to straighten out the details of reality.

I am sure they will be together again one day. That would explain why things went the way they did in my dream at the end.

1. I'm sorry for you.
The first holidays without someone are very hard. It does get better with time, but I think we always miss those who've passed on at this time of year especially.

3. Yeah. :^( It just seems to be more pronounced at those times...I guess
because it really underscores how wrong the "new normal" feels.

my husband passed away on Nov. 8, 2004 in the ICU after being there for 3 weeks.

October 26, his birthday
November 8, his death
November 13, our son's 5th birthday
November 21, our wedding anniversary...

Tough, very tough. :( I'll be praying for you.

8. Thank you to both of you...
It slowly gets easier, but things that remind me that I'm now a single mom constantly take me back to my rock who is no longer here with me, but who I trust is looking out for us. In a bittersweet way, the sad thoughts also remind me of how much we loved each other and what a great man he was. :loveya: Those thoughts will always bring a smile back to my face!
