Big freakin' BRUISE on my belly...
Beats me. Looks almost like I got kicked there. I inject my Lantus thre on alternate days (left side one night, right side the next)

Kinda scary looking. About as big as the palm of my hand and a deep shade of purple....

1. I have two
one on either side of my belly button.

I self inject B12. The first time, no bruising. Every time after, big purple bruises.

3. My doctor said that it's nothing to worry about
it's just normal bruising - capillaries breaking from the needle. Mine may not be as bad as yours, and it's always wise to check things out anyway.

Hopefully it's nothing serious. Mine's just crappy aim. ;)

4. Mine blamed the baby aspirin.
Yeah, that little Saint Joe's caused all that bruising.

Guess maybe I'll get a second opinion when I start to look like one of those purple necrotised people I see at the store once-a-while...

5. Do you take blood-thinners/anti-clotters?
They will do that as well.

7. I'm on Plavix and bruise if I look at myself wrong! I've gotten some nasty
ones with the pump cannula, too; it's about 1/2 inch longer than a syringe needle (but thinner).
