Anyone else have Chronic Irritiable Bowel Syndrome (Frank discussion)?
I've been home for three days with a flare up. Thank God for FMLA. Uncontrollable diarrhea is terrifying. I can't go to work. I can't go out into public. Sometimes I have to jog to the bathroom in Target. No matter what I eat, no matter what meds I take, I cycle through a day or two of uncontrollable diarrhea to constipation for a week. My bed is situated five feet from the bathroom. It is convenient for dashing.
Sometimes it is just nice to know that I'm not alone and maybe see what other people do to take the edge off. I'm on so many meds I feel like an 80 year old woman when I go to bed at night. Xanax and Propanolol to relax so I can sleep (I went through weeks of barely sleeping a year ago and nearly lost my marbles; doc said I was lucky to be alive, actually) and like four others. It's insane. But it is my life. I've been napping on and off today and will go back to work tomorrow, I hope. I'm out of sick leave and I'm not getting paid right now.
Anyway, if you do have it, I am sorry. I know it is not fun. And it's a chronic condition I've been told I will have for the rest of my life.
Duckie
