Hopes high for Parkinson's breakthrough

A simple device that stimulates the spine has given new hope to Parkinson’s patients, writes JOHN VON RADOWITZ.

A SIMPLE AND CHEAP device that stimulates the spinal cord with electricity could bring new hope to sufferers of Parkinson’s disease, it has been claimed.

Early research in mice and rats using the approach has proved dramatically effective.

1. Interesting that this article doesn't mention
that rat's nervous systems are simpler than human's, and frequently what works in rats and mice doesn't in humans. This fact was emphasized in several iterations of this story that I'd read earlier in the week in U.S. news sources. So we can hope, but we've been disappointed several times recently. Not yet time to practice our dance steps.
