Ah now I have hit a higher level of exercise
so here is the story. For the last two, almost three years, I've used a Gazelle regularly. In the process I lost over fifty pounds and got fitter, not fit, just fitter

It also brought my diabetes into far better control

BUT... you knew that was coming

THe Gazelle became not only boring, but really didn't even make me break a sweat any more

So started looking at Ellipticals. Why? I need a low impact machine

Today I found my lady (as it were)

Sears has a sale, and they had a low end machine, that takes a little less space than my trusty gazelle

I got it today, and got on it, mind you, testing ellipticals all day I got a work out

So nine minutes later I was done... really done... as in really feeling the burn done, and just on the most basic of resistances

Ah the joys of getting an exercise machine that is a challenge anew.

Ah the joys

And it is quiet, as in very quiet

Oh and I did not break the bank... and I see this as investing in me (Remember this was on sale, so it wasn't that bad, as in 50% off)

Of course hubby and I were joking about it The gazelle saw a shirt on it, very rarely... this one already has a towel on it, for the exercise you see

Oh and it comes with a bottle holder, which was a nice touch

Now the fan... he'll benefit, as he should be able to use it as well... and he's tall enough... fan, funny, what a joke.

He also told me today, you know you have hard legs? I guess it is all that exercise I do these days and I enjoy the feeling, and happy, and all that

As to the times, I did my job to stimulate the economy and did something good for myself as well.

Oh and the gazelle, calling goodwill on monday... I also have an old computer monitor to go to them... that way somebody else can get a good use out of it. I know I did and lord knows it did get quite a bit of use

1. Good Work for you!
I HATE exercise machines, and only think walking outdoors is my thing. Visited with family in FLorida, and walked by the ocean every evening, but moved back north without access to anything pleasant looking. (I'm too fussy, I know.)

JUST started thinking of moving to another place where there might actually be some decent places to walk.

SO, good luck to you; will think about you and your hard legs!

2. One thing pulling me toward Mexico is that their cities are
all walking cities with mass transit to the places that are just out of walking distance. Because they're walking cities, they have street vendors and musicians and everything I've so sorely missed since I left Boston.

I don't intend to own a car there because I honestly don't think I'll ever need one.

3. I think I missed something;
moving to Mexico?

Like European cities! Have you ever noticed the legs of European (and probably Mexican) women? We've lost it here, unfortunately.

Buena fortuna! (?)

4. It's been my hope for some time, although the trip
was delayed by a couple of falls and is now on hold until I have a better idea how the political situation is going to shake out.

6. Actually Mexico leads the world in obesity and diabetes rates currently
We are number two on something WHEW

And as much as the provincia is a tad safer than Mexico City... they are no longer walking cities due to the crime rates.

I wish it was different... but I have relatives living in Mexico

My mom still remembers taking the tranvia to the central market, and walking all over

I still walk when I go down there, to the near by markets at my parent's home, but always with an eye for trouble and for god sakes I can and do pass as a local
